This surge in wealth is attributed to various factors, including the dominance of artificial intelligence, flourishing luxury goods markets, and significant geopolitical shifts. 

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, the combined net worth of these individuals has surged by 13% this year, reaching a staggering $2.2 trillion. 

Together, they collectively hold nearly a quarter of the world's 500 richest people's wealth.

A closer look at some notable personalities:

Bernard Arnault:

At the forefront of the super-rich club is 75-year-old Bernard Arnault, founder, and CEO of LVMH, with a staggering net worth of $222 billion. 

Arnault derives the majority of his wealth from his stake in the world's largest luxury goods maker.

Jeff Bezos:

Jeff Bezos, aged 60, the founder of Amazon.com Inc., maintains his position as the second-richest person globally with a net worth of $208 billion, driven by his ownership of the world's largest online retailer.

Elon Musk:

Ranked third on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index is Elon Musk, aged 52, CEO of Tesla Inc., with a net worth of $187 billion. 

Francoise Bettencourt Meyers:

L'Oreal SA heiress Francoise Bettencourt Meyers, aged 70, has made history by becoming the first woman to amass a fortune exceeding $100 billion.

Boosted by a stellar year for shares of the luxury cosmetics company, Bettencourt Meyers now ranks 14th on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index with a net worth of $101 billion.

Michael Dell:

Founder of Dell Technologies Inc., Michael Dell, aged 59, has recently seen his wealth surpass the $100 billion mark.

Demand for AI-related equipment has propelled Dell Technologies' share price to record highs, securing Dell's position as the 11th richest person on Bloomberg's wealth index with a fortune of $113 billion.

Carlos Slim:

Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim, aged 84, has ascended to the ranks of the super-rich with a net worth of $106 billion, ranking 13th on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

A surge in the Mexican peso has bolstered the stock of companies within Slim's business empire, ranging from construction to restaurant and shop operations.

Gautam Adani:

After weathering a short-seller attack that led to significant wealth loss in 2023, 61-year-old Gautam Adani has made a triumphant return to the elite billionaire club. 

Shares of his flagship Adani Enterprises Ltd. surged as global investors turned their attention to Indian businesses, restoring Adani's status among the world's wealthiest individuals.
